Arrival

We keep our door locked while in session. The door will be opened anywhere from 10 minutes prior to possibly right before your scheduled time. If your therapist is not in the lobby to greet you, please have a seat, get comfortable, help yourself to water or tea, and we will be right with you!

Please

  • Let us know of any allergies or special accommodations you may need when you book

  • Do not smoke prior to your appointment. Many of our clients and therapists are sensitive to smoke, and we try to make our practice as welcoming to all as possible. If you are a heavy smoker, please note that nicotine in your body can pass into ours through our palms, and can cause a negative reaction for your therapist. It is possible you may be referred out if this occurs.

Cancellations

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel after the 24 hour window, you can expect to be charged 100% for your session. If we do not have your credit card on file, it is up to you whether you pay this fee; however, you will not be given a further appointment until you do so.

Exceptions* (and we hope you all would give us the same grace in these situations as well):

  • You are sick (Please don’t come in and get better!)

  • An immediate family member has a health emergency

  • You get in an accident, or car trouble on the way to the office

  • There is inclement weather that is causing hazardous road conditions for you (stay safe and stay home!)

*Chronic last-minute cancelling will result in a client being asked to pre-pay. This is up to the discretion of the therapist.

LATE ARRIVALS

Any amount of time you are late for your appointment, you can expect that amount of time to be taken off of your session length. Please allow enough time to travel to us based on the season and traffic conditions.

Client expectations

We expect everyone to know how to be appropriate and respectful, but unfortunately that’s not always the case. We reserve the right to terminate the session at ANY point, and charge full price for the session, if a client attempts to cross our professional boundaries. This includes:

  • Asking to remove the drape (it’s NC law to have one sheet on the client’s body, if you are uncomfortable with this, please book somewhere else.)

  • Any pushing of boundaries of the NC LMBT scope of practice.  Please go on https://www.ncbtmb.org/standards-of-practice/ if you are unsure what this includes. We are happy to educate anyone with questions but continuing to request anything we’ve stated as outside our scope will result in termination.
